Budget Bagel Crisps (Chips)

Packed full of flavour.

I use to buy these in packets until they stopped making them, so I started making my own. This is my favourite flavour, but you can add any seasoning you like from garlic powder to cinnamon sugar.

Easy to make, quick to bake.

Store the bagel crisps (chips) like regular crisps (chips), in a sealed bag or airtight container to keep them from absorbing odours and getting stale. They will store for around 2 weeks. Don’t forget to date it so you remember how long you have stored it for.

RECIPE

Makes Roughly 360 Grams

INGREDIENTS

4 Plain Bagels, Sliced as Thin as You Can. Use Stale Bagels Rather than Fresh Bagels.

2 Tablespoon Chicken Salt

1 Teaspoon Onion Powder

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1 Teaspoon Ground White Pepper

1/4 Cup Olive Oil, for Brushing

DIRECTIONS

Lay the bagels flat on a cutting board. Slice the bagels across as thin as you can slice them. You may slice the bagels in whatever way is comfortable for you. Set aside.

Cooking & Preparation Time: Roughly 40 Minutes

Add the olive oil in a bowl. Spread oil on the tops of each slice. I use a basting brush. Put each slice on the baking tray. Place the bagel tray in a preheated oven on 180c for 2 minutes, turn them for another 2 minutes or until golden brown. They may need to be cooked in batches. Put the bagels on a cooling wrack to cool.

Add the sliced bagels, chicken salt, onion powder and white pepper in a bowl. Mix to coat the bagels. Store the bagels with the seasoning in a sealed bag or container. Enjoy!
