Chefs Famous Toasted Muesli

This is a recipe I used at a popular cafe.

I serve it with 1 tablespoon flavoured yogurt, a handful of fresh or dried mixed berries. At home I sometimes have it with canned two fruits or fruit salad. I also add some oat milk, but you can use your favourite type of milk.

Chef's special recipe!

This is a restaurant style of muesli. Great flavoursome and healthy ingredients. You won't eat normal oats or store-bought cereals again. What's the difference between oats and muesli? It's simple, oats are made from rolled seeds of oats grass processed into flakes most popularly consumed in the form of oatmeal. Muesli is a combination of nuts, dried fruits, seeds, and oats.

RECIPE

Makes Roughly 550 Grams

Preparation & Cooking Time: Roughly 30 Minutes

300 Grams Plain Rolled Oats

1 1/2 Cup Trail Mix (Cashews, Almonds, Sultanas, Sunflower Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds)

1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut

1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

3 Tablespoons Golden Syrup

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl, add all the ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

Lay down some baking paper on a large tray. Evenly spread the mixture over the paper. Cook it in the oven for 15 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius, until you get a brown texture. Make sure you check it every 5 minutes, so it does not burn. You may need to give it a toss, so it cooks more evenly.

Place the muesli in a container while it’s warm to let it cool, or it can stick to the baking paper once cooled. Use a container with a lid to store it. I add oat milk, yogurt and fresh or dried mixed berries. Sometimes I add a splash of golden syrup. Enjoy.
