Stunning Steak and Mushroom Medley

Like steak and mushrooms? Try this easy recipe.

I make this a lot, it's simple but has great flavours. I use an assortment of mushrooms to make a more complex flavour. You can add onion or other vegetables like garlic, or even some herbs. I like to keep it simple. However you can also pour gravy over it instead of Worcestershire sauce.

Easy to make but is Yum Yum for your Tum Tum

If you like mushrooms, give this a try. You can use rump or sirloin or even porterhouse – any type of steak you like best. I like my steak cooked medium-well, but you can cook the steak to your liking. Add the mushrooms on top or even on the side. I like my steak medium well. You may need to adjust cooking the mushrooms if you like the steak less cooked.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

Slice the mushrooms up as you like. Season the steak if you like.

Add 100 grams butter into a big pan for steak. Melt the butter and add the steaks. While cooking my steak in butter, I don't season the steaks. It creates its own flavours. After a few minutes, once one side starts to brown, turn them over.

Melt the rest of the butter in another pan for mushrooms. You want the butter nice and hot, but don't let it burn. Add the mushrooms and toss, so the butter gets absorbed into all the mushrooms.

After a few minutes, turn the steaks over. Keep tossing the mushrooms occasionally between cooking your steak. Turn the steaks over one last time after a few minutes. My secret with cooking steak is turning 4 times overall, so the steak cooks for 2 times on each side.

Let the steak rest for 2-5 minutes. Once the mushrooms are cooked, take them off the heat.

Put the steak on a plate. Add the mushrooms and some mushroom butter juice on top or on the side. Add your salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to taste. Dig in and enjoy!
